Tradify Pricing and Alternatives: What You Really Pay (and What Hero AI Does Instead)

Tradify pricing looks cheap at £34 a user — until you count the office person, pick the tier you actually need, and notice nothing answers your phone. Here's the real maths by crew size.

Tradify Pricing and Alternatives: What You Really Pay (and What Hero AI Does Instead)

You’ve seen the headline. Tradify pricing starts at £34 per user per month. Sounds fair for a job-management app.

Then you add the lad on the second van. And the person doing your invoices on a Sunday night. And you realise the tier you can actually run a business on isn’t the cheapest one.

So what does Tradify cost for a real crew? And does any of it fix the thing that’s quietly costing you jobs — the phone ringing while you’re up a ladder? We’ve put the numbers together so you don’t have to.

Tradify pricing in the UK: the published figures

Tradify’s UK page lists three plans, per user, per month:

  • Lite: £34
  • Pro: £37
  • Plus: £44

There’s also a custom tier, priced on request, and Tradify advertises a 14-day free trial. Those are the vendor’s own UK figures (we checked the page at the end of July 2026). Worth knowing: UK pricing isn’t a currency conversion of the US pricing. Plenty of third-party review sites quote stale or flat-out wrong numbers, so screenshot Tradify’s own pricing page before you sign anything. We’d also check whether those prices include VAT, because the page doesn’t make that obvious.

The gaps between tiers look tiny — £3 from Lite to Pro, £7 from Pro to Plus. But the feature breakdown shows they gate real work:

  • Pro and up: timesheets, job photos and files, recurring jobs, progress invoicing, costing and bill tracking
  • Plus only: purchase orders, bulk invoicing, kit bundles, job tasks, staff activity history and reporting

Timesheets, photos and recurring jobs aren’t luxuries. If you’ve got anyone on the tools besides you, you’ll want them. So treat Lite as a sole-trader tier and budget for Pro or Plus.

What you’ll actually pay for your crew size

Here’s the grid nobody else seems to publish. It’s simple multiplication of Tradify’s published UK per-user prices, monthly, counting everyone who needs a login — techs and the office person.

Users Lite Pro Plus
1 £34 £37 £44
3 £102 £111 £132
5 £170 £185 £220
8 £272 £296 £352

A five-person firm on Pro pays £185 a month — £2,220 a year. On Plus, £220 a month, or £2,640 a year. Eight users on Plus is £352 a month.

And that’s before card-processing fees, which sit outside the subscription. Tradify takes card payments through Stripe, so ask for the current rate in writing rather than trusting a blog (including ours).

Per-seat pricing has an obvious flaw. Every new hire raises your bill. For a firm adding a second van, that’s backwards — you take on more work and your admin cost climbs with it. One independent review we’ve read calls Tradify hard to defend past about four users when compared with bundled-seat rivals. That review is US-focused, so run your own numbers, but the logic holds on any currency.

Tradify app: what the AI does (and doesn’t) do

Tradify’s AI is called SmartTools. SmartRead and SmartWrite read supplier bills and import the costs, and help draft customer-facing text. Both sit on Plus — the most expensive tier.

That’s useful if you’re drowning in supplier invoices. But it’s back-office text and bill help. It doesn’t answer the phone. It doesn’t book a boiler breakdown at 7pm. It doesn’t re-route your day when a job overruns.

Picture this: you’re under a sink in Leeds, hands full, and your phone buzzes on the van seat. Boiler’s out, customer’s got a baby in the house. You can’t pick up. They ring the next plumber on Google — who does. Your £220-a-month Tradify plan logged nothing, because there was nothing to log.

That’s the leak. Call-tracking data cited in one 2026 roundup puts unanswered inbound calls to home-services businesses at around 27%, with fewer than 3% of voicemail callers leaving a message. Other vendor figures run higher (we’ve seen 40% quoted for after-hours calls), but those are marketing-tinged, so use the lower number and be sceptical.

Work out your own version in 30 seconds:

missed calls a week × how often you’d have won the job × average job value

Say five missed calls, a 40% win rate and a £250 average job. That’s £500 a week. Your numbers will differ — that’s the point of doing it. No per-user job-management plan fixes it.

A Tradify alternative depends on what’s actually broken

Be honest with yourself about which problem you’ve got.

If your issue is a clunky job-tracking app, there are other options. Tradify’s UK rivals include Clik Compliance, which publishes £20 per user per month for its entry plan (up to 30 certificates a month) and £25 for Advanced — handy if regulated certificates, like CP12 gas safety records or electrical certs, are your daily grind. Commusoft, Joblogic, ServiceM8 and Simpro are all quote-only, so you’ll need to ring them. For a full run-down of how to choose, see our guide to field service management software in the UK.

If your issue is missed calls, slow quotes and chasing money, a different job-tracking app won’t help. You need staff.

That’s what Hero AI is. It’s not a per-seat job tracker — it’s an AI teammate that works the phones, the schedule and the money:

  • Answers your calls 24/7 and books the job straight onto the board
  • Drafts a Good/Better/Best estimate from a voice note in under a minute
  • Routes the day’s jobs (10–15% less drive time) and keeps the board double-booking-free
  • Chases overdue invoices, reconciles payments and keeps the books tidy
  • Follows up after every job and catches unhappy customers before the one-star review

Hero 365 pricing in the UK is flat, not per seat: £19.99 a month for AI Concierge (answers and books your calls 24/7), £119 for Growth and £289 for Scale. Add a fourth van and your bill doesn’t move. You can see it all on our pricing page.

Compare the whole stack, not one line

We’re not going to pretend Hero AI is a like-for-like copy of every Tradify feature. A mature job-management app has depth in places we won’t claim to match. Judge it by what it replaces.

Add up what you pay today:

  • Your job-management app (per seat)
  • An answering service or someone’s wages for the phone
  • Bookkeeping and invoice-chasing time
  • Whatever you spend on quote follow-up

Then compare that total to a flat monthly fee. For a one-van sole trader, Tradify Lite at £34 might be all you need. For a five-person firm paying £185–£220 for seats, plus losing 27% of calls, the picture changes.

Also remember incumbents are bolting AI on as a higher tier or add-on. Whoever you pick, ask three questions: What does the call-answering cover? Are there minute caps? Does it book straight onto your calendar, or just take a message?

And if you’re in gas, don’t forget compliance still gates the work. CP12 certificates and Gas Safe records need to be airtight whichever app you choose, and CIS deductions need to land cleanly in your books. Check how each option handles them. We cover that in our small plumbing business guide.

Before you sign anything

A quick checklist:

  1. Screenshot the vendor’s own pricing page — today’s date visible
  2. Confirm monthly vs annual billing and whether VAT is included
  3. Count every login, including the office
  4. Ask about extra-user fees and card-processing rates
  5. Do the missed-call sum above

Want to see how never missing another call would change your numbers? Download the Hero365 app, hire Hero AI, and get a written quote before you commit to anything. Or try the free tools first. No demo call, no onboarding fee.
